fair isle beanie
I cast on 100 stitches but increased and decreased at a couple of points to adjust for the diamond and zig zag patterns (poor planning).
I first scribbled a rough chart on paper, and then thought I could carry on without it. I did, for a while, but it was mighty frustrating, so I used this nifty website https://www.stitchfiddle.com/en for the last third or so.
It was as this point that I realised the hat was going to be too small for me. :'( My tension was TOTALLY different to the basic beanie I'd knitted previously - perhaps because fair isle is far more stressful?
I finished it, sewed up the side, and added a pom pom.
